Don't miss the re-launch of .MX
Sunday, June 14th, 2009The .MX is the top level domain of Mexico and it was originally released in 1989, and now it's time for a re-launch
. The difference this time is that now you don't need a local presence as was previously required to get your very own .COM.MX domain.
Another difference is that you can get a second level domain directly and don't have to settle for a third level domain. A second level domain is like YOURNAME.MX instead of YOURNAME.COM.MX.
Up until the 31st of July theres a pre-registration period where anyone that got a .COM.MX domain can get the equivalent .MX domain, but after the 1st of September anyone can get their own .MX domain
. To get a name during the pre-registration period you need the .COM.MX domain and it must have been registered before 1st of March 2009. This is to avoid cyber squatters, which is good for anyone that already got their .COM.MX domain registered.
So if your family, your business or interests are tied to Mexico, say "Si!" to .MX at eXavier.com!
