Create a logo the easy way

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

The Logo Creator is a peice of software to make it easy for you to design your own logo (duh :D ). According to the web site you can design logos like if you where using Photoshop in almost no time at the fraktion of the cost for Photshop :D . The software costs only $29.95 which is incredible low if you can do what the web site promisses :D .

Got a Mac or PC? Don’t worry the Logo Design software is available for both Mac, Windows Vista and Windows XP.

Included with the Logo Creator is also about 50 designs you can use, modify and change the way you want to easily create your own logo. You also get the right to sell the logos you design, which means taht for as little as $29.95 you can start your own design company :D . If you need to finance the purchase you simply just design two or three professional looking logos and sell them to newly started companies or web sites :D . If you sell more then just a few you can make it a profitable hobby :D .

You can of course buy different editions of the Logo Creator depending of what kind of logos you want to make. For example you can get the Corporate Logo Edition with 80 corporate logos, or the Business Mascot Edition with 50 customizable cartoon mascots.

Visit www.thelogocreator.com for more information.

Used Macs

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

Over at DV Warehouse you’ll find a used Macs section with exactly, that’s right, “used Macs” :D . They got everything from Power Mac G4, Powerbook & iBook laptop Computers, iMac & eMac to Power Mac G3.

Powerbook

When I accessed their web shop they got for example a “Powerbook G4 1.5GHz 512mb 80GB Combo Drive 15″ - Pre Owned” for $759.00. According to the web site that’s 11% off, but I don’t know if that’s off the price for a new Powerbook or if it’s off the first listed price in the shop :???: . Each and every used Macgot it’s owned detailed description with all specifications like hard drive, memory and type of processor. They also answer a few common questions like what condition the computers are in, what you get when you buy and what kind of software you get preinstalled with your computer. From the web site I learnt that they do their best to restore each system to their factory specifications, both software and hardware. Which is good because then you don’t have to worry about any weird software, viruses or keyloggers that the previous owner may have installed or got from any other way.

They’re also suggesting some other products other customers that bought similar products got. In the Powerbook example above I got some product suggestions for more memory (always useful :) ). When you’ve placed an order your “new” used Mac is packed and shipped to you within 24-48 hours by FedEx, which means fast and reliable deliveries.

So if your Mac is getting a little bit too old, check out DV Warehouse.

Ever needed labels?

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

Have you ever needed labels or custom stickers for something and realized that it’s kind of hard to get a quote, submit your content to the printing company? Now you don’t have to worry since Frontier Label, Inc can do most of the sizes and types of labels and stickers you could ever need. Frontier Label started in 2004 and they not only print labels, but they also design and build custom label and sticker application machinery.

It’s really easy to get a quote from Frontier Labels. You just fill in a simple form where you select quantity and label size. You then get your quote instantly.

Since they can offer over 670 different sizes on the label you must be able to find what you need and want :) . You can for example order labels by usage if you don’t know the exact size you need and some of the sizes you can choose from are: beer bottle, candle stick, water bottle and tea tin labels. You can even buy bumper stickers :D . If you’ve previously ordered labels from them you can easily re-order the same lables again from their site.

In case you need help selecting the type of label you need for a specific purpose you can chat with one of their representatives online. If you need to talk to them they offer a toll free number too.

Visit their web site or check out their fantastic online sample gallery.

GPS tracking

Sunday, March 2nd, 2008

I guess you’ve heard of GPS (Global Positioning System), a system allowing you to find out your exact position using satellite signals, and the map service Google Earth before. But did you know there’s an easy way to combine these two?

By using the GPS Tracking Key from LandAirSea Systems and a laptop with Google Earth installed you can see your exact position in Google Earth. The internal computer determines the exact GPS location of the device within 2.5 meters and records this data every second. The data can then be downloaded and viewed in Google Earth simply by plugging the Tracking Key into the USB port of a computer. You can then view where you have been on the satellite images in Google Earth with the time you spent at different places. You can also see the speed you had while moving!

The device is water resistant so you can use it outdoors and even on the sea :) . That’s really good since I rarely need to find out my location when I’m indoors  .

On Youtube there’s a video where GPS tracking helped solving a murder case thanks to it’s accuracy. The authorities discovered there was a global positioning system in the suspects car that his wife put it in the truck, because she suspected he was having an affair. Based on the information taken from the tracking key, the suspect was charged with murder o a 12 year old girl.

It’s amazing what you can do with GPS tracking :)

Why Pay For Help When Its Free Online?

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

As the internet continues to take hold of more and more of our everyday life, there are some things which do not change with regards to the thoughts and actions of webmasters.  If you are looking for help on a marketing or a blogging subject where would you look? Who do you trust?

Let us show you an interesting scenario which we will all have been guilty of at some time in our online life time:-

Let us imagine that you are having trouble getting your website ranked for particular keywords, and you don’t have enough experience in this field to be able to resolve your problem.  You begin to look around the internet and you spot two sites offering advice on keyword density, search engines and SEO, etc.

Site One

A basic site which is packed with Google Adverts, but has a very impressive information section and free eBook download.  The site is nothing special and the eBook “100 Ways To Pack Your Site With Keywords And Win” looks ok but nothing startling, a little icon allows you to click and download the eBook for free.

Site Two

This site is much more impressive and offers the full all singing all dancing website, giving a detailed page for each problem you may have getting listed on the search engines, as well as a download of the “100 Ways To Pack Your Site With Keywords And Win” eBook which costs $29.99(the same eBook as on the free site, but the icon is better).  These boys are a real slick outfit offering keyword services for $100 an hour, upfront with guaranteed search engine success.

Question

Which one would you go for? Which one gives you the most confidence?

The crazy thing about the human mind and the way we think is that we are all concerned if something is free! How can they give the eBook away and the other site charge $29.99, “it can’t be the same eBook, it does not look right”.

The majority of people who are looking for the advice shown on both sites would probably feel more at home buying the eBook from the second site, because “it feels right”.  Too many people get hooked up on cost and value for money – if someone is offering you an eBook for free with no strings attached, what is wrong with trying it?  Just because you are paying for a service does not make it better than general advice given in a forum – a forum which is probably visited by a number of experts in search engine optimisation anyway.

Conclusion

The next time you are looking for information or a service for your website, do not forget that just because you are paying for something, or you are paying more at a particular site, it does not mean the quality of the information or the service is better.  The internet has turned many business rules full circle with more and more sites offering free services and eBooks, etc to attract our attention.  They then make their money when you click on highly optimised Google Adverts, at no cost to the reader.

Just because it costs more does not mean it is better quality, paying more may give you confidence in the service or the information, but it will also leave a hole in your pocket.
