Twitter, twitter and even more twitter

Thursday, July 10th, 2008

I have to say that I like Twitter and I especially like it for all the nice sites with cool features that pop up every now and then :D so I decided to post about some Twitter services I found.

Twitter bot

This is actually not something I found, but something I developed on my own :D .

The Twitter bot is an AI robot that can answer questions and chat with you. It's not that intelligent at the moment, but the idea is to add all information you need to know about our services so it can take care of the basic customer support in the future.

At the moment you can chat in general with the bot at twitter.com/xaviermedia (just start your message with @xaviermedia and you'll get a reply back). At twitter.xaviermedia.com you can find the latest conversations with the bot.

Twitter Counter

The Twitter counter is a daily updated counter showing the number of followers you got at Twitter. You can also find history of the changes in the number of followers during the past week. Unfortunately it didn't work that well for me because I just got an empty counter :( . Check out the counter at TwitterCounter.com.

Twitscoop

This site scans the public time line at Twitter and show you the current buzz in a word cloud. They also got the hottest trends as graphs (a Google Trends for Twitter you may say :D ). This site is perfect if you're looking for something to write about or are just curious about what's going on in the Twitter world. Check it out at Twitscoop.com.

Twitterholic

At Twitterholic you'll find the people with most followers (i.e. people with the most stockers  ). Twitterholic scans the public time line and checks the number of followers for the users found. The users with most followers shows up on the top list. Since I want xaviermedia to show up on the top list you have to follow me . Check out Twitterholic at Twitterholic.com.

Some people to follow

Here's a list of some people you should start follow:

April 2008 – StumbleUdon

Saturday, April 5th, 2008

Most of you all know about StumbleUpon and most of you also know that it's hard to get the first few Sumbles to get some attention to your newly posted article. Now there's a new way to get the first Stumbles to get some extra boost to your Stumble campaign. It's called StumbleUdon and is an automated free Stumble exchange where you exchange a few stumbles with other members. You get somewhere between 5 to 15 free Stumbles each day (depending on how many visitors you've referred :D ) and you can buy some extra too if you want to.

To get really good results with this exchange you need to remember to submit quality content (and not spammy affiliate pages). One of my more successful articles got over 1000 visitors from Stumble by just using five free credits from StumbleUdon. That's about 200% up!

I started testing StumbleUdon in the end of February and could see an increase in the visitors count already taht month. Compare March and January in this graph and you'll see that it's possible to make some really good traffic if you got quality content:

Some suggestions to succeed with Stumbles

To get good results you need to submit quality content. A few things I've learnt is that Stumble users like content without "expiration dates" (i.e. content that's valid today, tomorrow and maybe even next year) like for example Fun stuff from Google. News, contests, sweepstakes and time limited articles are not doing well at all. Numbered lists seems to be wroking well too :D

February 2008 – Powerdropping.com

Sunday, February 24th, 2008

This month the Site of the month is a really useful Entrecard (read more about Entrecard here) related site I visit (almost) daily: Powerdropping.com. The site is simply just a list of Entrecard blogs sorted by loading time with the fastest loading site at the top.

So what's so special about a site with just links to other sites? If you like me are trying to earn as many Entrecard credits per day as possible while you have a lot of other things to do, then you can't spend 1 or 2 hours dropping Entrecards :( . The solution is simply to visit Powerdropping.com where you got 250-280 of the fastest loading Entrecard sites with the widget at the top of the site. This way you can drop 250 Entrecards in just 20 minutes :) instead of spending hours. I even got a few minutes to spare so I have time to find new exciting blogs to add to my RSS reader.

If you're an Entrecard member, but haven't checked out Powerdropping.com yet: Check it out now!

If you're a blogger, but haven't joined Entrecard yet: Do it! Visit Entrecard.com here.
