I've been testing the Entrecard market since the start now and I'm extremely disappointed. Selling/buying stuff at Entrecard.com using Entrecard credits is a perfect idea, but at the moment it doesn't work very well at all with the current setup.
When you place an order for something in the market your order end up as "New" and the idea is that the seller will accept the order and also deliver what you've ordered. This is how it should work in a perfect world, but at the moment I got several orders both as "New" and "In progress". They've been this way for several days now and I think one of the reasons is that they email function telling sellers they got a new order is not working at all (or at least I've never received any emails from Entrecard when I've gotten a new order).
I've also noticed that sometimes when you place an order it's just removed without notice
. No email explaining what happened to the order and no trace of it at the Entrecard site, which is extremely weird. Do they have a serious bug or should it work like that so some orders just disappear?
If you're selling something you're not getting your credits until the buyer accepts your delivery which may be never in some cases….. so Entrecard got a function where you can have a moderator mediate your sale. Sounds good in theory, but I've had several sales in this status for over a week and nothing has happened at all. Thanks God I'm not selling anything really expensive. I can see that some users ignore to accept the delivery, but that even the Entrecard moderators are ignoring the sales being made are just stupid by Entrecard. If the sellers aren't getting paid they will stop selling stuff at Entrecard.com which will cause the market to be without products completely.
A good idea for Entrecard would be to actually start sending out emails when sales are done and also emails reminding buyers to accept sales so the sellers are getting payments for their stuff.
I know that the market is in beta still, but Entrecard got a lot of work to do before they can have a working marketplace where you can trust each other enough to do transactions.
I'm not going to sell anything expensive at Entrecard under the current circumstances.
BTW the help file is missing (i.e. giving a 404 error). Since the market is really new people would actually need this file to figure out what's going on with the marketplace……
