For a beginning in affiliate marketing, I'd suggest starting out with a couple of affiliate networks like ClickBooth or Azoogle.  Publishers can pick and choose from a wide variety of lead and sales offers to run on their sites.

I never join individual affiliate programs anymore.  Over the years I've learned that large affiliate networks are the way to go - for me anyways.</description>
