At Free Counter Pro you can create free web hit counters for your web site(s). There are many different styles to choose from and some of the number formats you can choose are actually really nice. By selecting a style that blend in into your web sites design you can still create a nice looking site using the counters.

The free hit counter from Free Counter Pro will track how many visitors your web site has received and post this number visible for everyone to see. One good thing is that you can set the starting value to anything you want so that if you’re using another counter service today you don’t have to lose any hits by switching counter

If you got a static IP address on your own Internet connection you can ban your own IP address so whenever you visit your own site your hits aren’t counted. That’s good because you as the site owner tend to visit your own site much more then your actual visitors when you’re working on your site and you don’t want your own visits to ruin your statistics.

In the members area you can view the top referring pages (i.e. the pages sending traffic to your own site), if the visitors found your page in a search engine you’ll see what they searched for and you can even see the pages your visitors last visited on your site.

If you don’t have any web site statistics at your web hosting company I can recommend using Free Counter Pro since they provide you with the most basic stats for your site. However if you can get your hosting provided to activate statistics for your account then that is a much better option then a counter because you get so much more information then the counter can give you.
