Why you should register your own .com domain

Wednesday, October 17th, 2007

Here are some good reasons why you should register your own .com domain name:

* Give you credibility in the online world. A .COM is essential for anyone looking to maintain an active presence on the Internet. Using for example yourname@sampleaddress.com on your business card looks more professional then for example @hotmail.com….

* You can get professional hosting with your own blog. If you have your own domain name you have a lot more options to find a good hosting company then if you don't have a domain name. And if your host isn't that good you can easily point your domain name to another hosting company without having to re-brand your online business.

* You can sell your domain name later. If you get tired of your online project or simply just want to "cash-in" it's easier to sell your online project if you got your own domain name. Even if your project isn't that good you can still get a good offer for your domain name (if it's a good one).

* It's easier to remember. It's easier for your customers, friends, family and others who needs to find your online project to remember for example SampleAddress.com then somehostingcompany.net/home/users/~sampleaddress/

* Type in traffic. If you got a goot keyword domain name you can get some type in traffic, i.e. users who simpkly just write your domain name in their web browser to see where they end up.

At eXavier.com you can currently get your own domain name with email and a lot of other features for just $6.95 for the first year (normal price $8.75/year). Or why not get your own .info domain name for only $1.99/year.

Check out eXavier.com for more information.

October 2007 – www.v7n.com

Monday, October 15th, 2007

Site of the month for October is v7n.com, a webmaster community with tons of fun stuff for all webmasters. They also got a good forum at www.v7n.com/forums/. What I really like about the forum is that you can add your blog feed so that the title of your latest blog post show up under your avatar when you post in the forum. That way you get some more readers for your blog :)

Check it out, you will like it :)
