Microsoft is taking up the fight with Google Earth with their new service called Microsoft Virtual Earth. This new web service will let you view cities as 3D-maps. You can virtualy walk around in the city of your choise, unfortunaltey it only works in a few US cities so far:
- Atlanta
- Baltimore
- Boston
- Dallas
- Denver
- Detroit
- Fort Worth
- Houston
- Las Vegas
- Los Angeles
- Philadelphia
- Phoenix
- San Francisco
- San Jose
- Seattle
The only downsides are that you need a special plugin installed in your web browser to use the 3D-maps and the service will only work if you have Internet Explorer
